Changing Settings
On the Update Settings tab, you can select the programs
you want to include in update checks and how often you
want the Update Manager to check for updates.
Selecting Programs
To select the programs you want to include in update
checks.
- Select Program Updates from the Start menu. The Update
Manager opens.
- Select the Update Settings tab.
- In the list of available updates:
- Select the check box for any program for which you
want Update Manager to check for updates.
- Clear the check box for any program for which you
do not want Update Manager to check for updates.

Setting Up Automatic Update Checking
You can configure the Update Manager to automatically
check for updates on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis
using these steps:
- Select Program Updates from the Start menu. The Update
Manager opens.
- Select the Update Settings tab.
- In the Check for Updates field, select the first
option, “The InstallShield Update Manager will
automatically check for updates on the frequency you
specify.”
- In the drop-down box, select Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.

Setting Up Manual Update Checking
If you do not want the Update Manager to automatically
check for updates, follow these steps:
- Select Program Updates from the Start menu. The Update
Manager opens.
- Select the Update Settings tab.
- In the Check for Updates field, select the second
option, “The InstallShield Update Manager will
not automatically check for updates.”

When you want to check for updates:
- Select Program Updates from the Start menu. The Update
Manager opens.
- In the Update Manager dialog, select Check for Updates
Now. A list of updates and messages will be displayed.
It is recommended that you check for updates at least
once a month.
